Step back into 1776 and celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with an unforgettable journey through the waters of history aboard the iconic Vagabond. In partnership with the Heritage Library, this special narrated history cruise brings the Revolutionary War era of Hilton Head Island to life from the very waterways where history unfolded.

As you cruise through the scenic Lowcountry aboard the Vagabond, costumed historical docents from the Heritage Library will guide guests through captivating stories of the American Revolution, coastal defenses, naval activity, local settlements, and the important role Hilton Head Island and the surrounding waters played during the fight for independence.

Because this experience takes place on the water itself, guests will gain a unique perspective unlike a traditional land-based history tour. Hear the stories while viewing the very marshes, shorelines, waterways, and strategic locations connected to the Revolutionary War era along the South Carolina coast.

The 1877 Tall Ship ELISSA sets sail for Savannah as part of her official Sail 250 voyage, marking a meaningful return to a port she previously visited in 1894. This historic arrival offers a rare opportunity to step aboard a living piece of maritime heritage and explore the craftsmanship, stories and enduring legacy of one of the world's last actively sailing square-rigged iron barques.

As the Official Tall Ship of Texas and a National Historic Landmark, ELISSA welcomes more than 40,000 visitors annually and remains one of only three ships of her kind still actively sailing today.

I’ve always enjoyed sailing, boating and water events but an 18 day (11 of which were at sea)trans Pacific cruise is no game. 20 foot seas made a toy out of the 1000+ foot long and 130,000 ton ship, with side levers. It took us a few days and calmer waters to stop the dremamine(sp). That aside the trip was an amazing experience.
