Jim Marshall—whose sailing and delivery career spans 60 years and the equivalent of ten circumnavigations—will take us on a journey across the world’s oceans. From early days racing on Long Island Sound to four transatlantic crossings, 26 Newport–Bermuda races, and elite international competitions including the Fastnet Race and America’s Cup campaigns, Jim’s experiences offer a rare window into both the triumphs and realities of offshore sailing.
Blending storytelling with insight, Jim will share personal accounts of ocean racing—its victories, close calls, and unforgettable moments—alongside the practical side of seamanship. He’ll also touch on the often-overlooked world of yacht deliveries along the East Coast, where preparation, weather awareness, and decision-making are everything.
